14 April 2012 - Scientists at CERN is the European Organization for Nuclear Research (one of the most important bodies of Europe in terms of research) announced the discovery of a particle that can travel faster than light. The experiment was that from a supercollider in a laboratory located on the outskirts of Geneva - Switzerland , neutrinos were fired into a underground laboratory in Gran Sasso - Italy , traveling 454 miles (727kms) away in 60 nanoseconds , which corresponds to a much faster than the speed of light. This study has involved over 160 scientists from 11 countries and more than six months of information exchange.
